Agadir Agreement (Arab Mediterranean Free Trade Area)
Signed in 2004 by Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco, the agreement entered into force in 2006 and is run by the Agadir Technical Unit in Amman; Lebanon and Palestine joined in 2020. It removes duties between members and uses pan-Euro-Mediterranean origin rules, helping members combine inputs and export to the EU.
What you get
- Duty-free trade between members
Originating goods traded between Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco enter without customs duties.
Source ↗ - Cumulation for EU exports
Materials from other Agadir members, the EU or EFTA can count towards origin, so finished goods can more easily qualify for duty-free access to the EU.
