Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy explains how Vlumu Digital, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which operates MENA Trade, collects, uses and protects personal data, in line with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law and Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 where they apply.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: name, job title, email, mobile number and password (stored hashed).
- Company data: name, country, city, commercial registration, licences, tax number, logo, photos, products and prices.
- Verification documents: the registration and licences you upload, kept in private storage that only our verification team can open.
- Activity data: requests for quotation, shipping and clearance requests, quotes, request views, ratings and related messages.
- Payment data: card details are handled directly by Stripe; we never see or store the full card number.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and the cookies needed to run the site.
2. Why we use it
- To create accounts, verify companies and run the catalog, quotation, shipping and clearance requests.
- To send notices about requests, quotes, invoices and plan reminders.
- To collect subscriptions, issue invoices and meet tax and legal duties.
- To protect the platform, prevent fraud and improve the service.
3. When your data is shared
- Between users: on requests for quotation, shipping and clearance requests, the requester's contact details (name, email, mobile) are shown only to companies that send a quote on that request, and the requester sees those companies' details. Verified company profiles and products are public. We record when factories open a request, to show the buyer how many viewed it and to calculate each factory's response rate.
- Service providers: Stripe (payments), Brevo (email), Cloudflare (security and speed) and our hosting providers. They must protect the data and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Authorities: when a binding legal request requires it.
- We do not sell personal data.
4. Transfers abroad
Data may be stored or processed on our service providers' servers outside Saudi Arabia and Egypt. We use appropriate safeguards as required by law.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account data while the account is active, invoices and financial records for as long as tax law requires, and delete or anonymise other data when an account is closed unless the law requires us to keep it.
6. Your rights
You can access your data and get a copy, correct it, ask for it to be deleted or your account closed, object to processing or withdraw consent where the law allows. Write to us through the contact form and we will reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for sign-in, security and your language choice. Cloudflare may set cookies to protect against attacks. If we turn on Google ads on the news pages, Google may use cookies to show ads; you can control them in your browser or Google's ad settings.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, limited access and encrypted backups. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects you we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
9. Contact and changes
Privacy questions: contact form. We may update this policy and will publish the new version on this page.
If the Arabic and English versions differ, the Arabic version prevails.
