Turkey–Syria Free Trade Agreement
The FTA entered into force on 1 January 2007 and has been suspended since 6 December 2011. After the change of government in Syria, the two sides agreed in January 2025 to start talks on restoring it, but no FTA preferences apply yet.
What you get
- Normal trade restored in 2025
Since 8 February 2025 Turkey has lifted its export and transit restrictions on Syria and abolished import licensing; Syrian goods now face Turkey's standard rules and duties.
